Olivier Labelle was not only named the Reading Royal of the Week, but now he can add Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

The 26-year-old alternate captain had an explosive goal-scoring week. In the four games the Royals played in from Nov. 7-13, Labelle tallied six goals and added an assist. In the two wins, he scored the game winners.

Arguably the team’s MVP for the first quarter of the season, Labelle leads the Royals and is second in the ECHL in goals (10). His five goals on the power play and three game winners lead the league.

In Sunday’s game against the Elmira Jackals, Labelle’s goal in the second period set a Royals record for all-time career goals with the franchise (54).

The St. Eustache, Quebec, native is in his third season with the team. He has also spent time with the Utah Grizzlies and Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Over his ECHL career, Labelle has scored 170 points (96G, 74A) and racked up 597 penalty minutes in 215 games.
