No. 3 Boston Bruins vs. No. 5 Tampa Bay Lightning
GAME 1: BOS 2 – TBL 5

BOSTON – The Lightning continue their winning streak in the playoffs with their eighth consecutive win, this time a 5-2 win over the Bruins.

It took a little past the middle of the first period for the goals to come, but when they did, the Lightning took advantage.

Tampa Bay scored three goals in the span of 1:25 from Sean Bergenheim, Brett Clark and Teddy Purcell. Tyler Seguin, in his first game of the playoffs, scored with 4:01 remaining in the period to give the Bruins some life.

It took until the third period for anymore goals to be scored, and once again, it was the Lightning who struck first.

Marc-Andre Bergeron scored on the power play at the 13:37 mark and Simon Gagne sealed it with his empty-net goal with 2:31 left.

With the extra attacker out, Johnny Boychuk scored with 1:01 remaining, but it would make little difference as the Lightning still held a three-goal lead.

The Bruins woes on the power play returned in the first game as they went 0-for-4.
