TAMPA – The Capitals are watching their hopes drift away as they fall behind 3-0 in the series to the Lightning.

The Capitals wouldn’t go away though as the tied the game 59 seconds into the second period off Mike Knuble, then gained the lead seven minutes later from John Carlson‘s goal. Vincent Lecavalier tied the game roughly four minutes later, only to lose the lead again as Alex Ovechkin scored on the power play.

The Capitals let the win slip out of their grasp in the third period as the Lightning tied and took over the lead 24 seconds apart with goals from Steven Stamkos and Ryan Malone.
