GAME 2: PHI 2 – BOS 3, OT

PHILADELPHIA – The Flyers came out a much different team than in Game 1, but got the same result: a loss.

James van Riemsdyk struck first a mere 29 seconds into the game and again nine minutes later to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead.

It lasted only briefly as the Bruins came back and scored two of their own 85 seconds apart 3:19 after van Riemsdyk. Chris Kelly and Brad Marchand had the goals.

The 2-2 score remained through the second and third periods.

Despite having dominated most of the overtime, the Flyers failed to get one past Tim Thomas. David Krejci‘s shot went in by Brian Boucher, hit the back bar and bounced out so quickly the referees thought it never went it. The Bruins on the ice began to celebrate, but the play continued. After the play was halted off an icing call, it went to review and was determined to be a goal.

Boucher injured his hand in the second period and came out of the game. Sergei Bobrovsky came in and stopped the six shots he faced. Boucher returned to begin the third period.
