Philadelphia’s population exceeds that of Pittsburgh, but you would never know when looking at the amount of votes Penguins fans have submitted compared to Flyers fans.

The Penguins have taken over the the top spots. Out of the six players spots that will go to the game, four of them belong to Penguins players.

Flyers fans have continued to push Jody Shelley up the standings. He now sits at 32nd, very close to cracking the top 30, if not more. All other Flyers forwards sit in the same spots. Mike Richards has gained a little ground over teammate Claude Giroux, but neither is making much progress on making the top five. Danny Briere sits in the 12th spot and Jeff Carter is close to being overtaken by players behind him. Ville Leino still remains in at 76th.

Chris Pronger continues to garner votes because well, he’s Pronger. He still sits in third while Kimmo Timonen continues in fifth. Detroits’ Nicklas Lidstrom can possibly pass Pronger in the remaining week of voting.

For the first time in the voting, the No. 1 goaltending spot has changed from Montreal’s Carey Price. The Penguins fans have once again shown their voting prowess and pushed Marc-Andre Fleury to the top. Sergei Bobrovsky is falling out of contention sitting in third.

As it stands now, the six players going to the All-Star game are Sidney Crosby (PIT), Jonathan Toews (CHI), Evgeni Malkin (PIT), Kris Letang (PIT), Duncan Keith (CHI), Fleury (MTL).

Flyers fans, I urge you not to give up. Our players are not that far out of cracking the top spots, but they can’t do it without the help of your votes! There’s only one week left for you to get your Flyers into the game. So go vote, vote, vote and get your friends and family to do it also!

Please note that for forwards and defensemen, I have posted only the top 30. To see the entire rankings, visit the NHL’s site.
