Pittsburgh Penguins fans have been coming out in fine fashion to vote for their stars. They have at least one player in the top five in every category, and super star Sidney Crosby has become almost untouchable with the lead he has over every player in the NHL.

If this week’s goal in Philadelphia was to move Jody Shelley up the rankings, well then Flyers fans succeeded. Shelley jumped 29 spots to now sit at No. 46. The rest of the forwards, minus Ville Leino, sit in the same place. Claude Giroux has caught up to Mike Richards and is a mere 705 votes away from overtaking him. Danny Briere and Jeff Carter sit back in 12th and 19th, respectively. Leino fell back one position to 76th.

Chris Pronger and Kimmo Timonen sit idly in third and fifth. Timonen has yet to move from fifth the entire five weeks. Pronger is becoming close to be overtaken by Detroit’s Nicklas Lidstrom, which may happen now that Pronger is out four to six weeks with a broken foot. He may not even be back in time for the All-Star Game if he is voted in.

Sergei Bobrovsky remains in the third spot this week. The gap between him and Carey Price of Montreal and Marc-Andre Fleury of Pittsburgh is widening.

As it stands now, the six players going to the All-Star game are Crosby (PIT), Jonathan Toews (CHI), Evgeni Malkin (PIT), Kris Letang (PIT), Duncan Keith (CHI), Price (MTL).

Fans, you need to do as the Flyers have done three times this season and beat the Penguins. How do you do that? By voting! So go here to cast your vote, then here and then to round it out, go here. Oh, and to make it even better? Text the last name of the Flyers to 81812.

All I want for Christmas…is for all of you to VOTE!

Please note that for forwards and defensemen, I have posted only the top 30. To see the entire rankings, visit the NHL’s site.
