Flyers fans must have been falling asleep at the laptop this week judging by the numbers just released in the All-Star voting. Either that, or they spent all their time trying to get tough guy Jody Shelley in the top 50.

Mike Richards, Danny Briere, Jeff Carter and Ville Leino all dropped in placements – Leino dropping by two. The only forward who stayed the same was Claude Giroux, who continues to lead all write-in forwards. Giroux only trails Richards by little over 2,000 votes, the closest it’s been in the four weeks since the ballots opened.

Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby has run away with the lead. The second place Jonathan Toews from Chicago is 165,980 votes away.

Chris Pronger, like most of the forwards, has fallen a spot.  Chicago’s Duncan Keith made it back into the top two. But Pronger lags behind by only roughly 5,000 votes. Kimmo Timonen remains in fifth position, where he has sat the entire four weeks.

What may be the biggest show of the Flyers fans’ lack of voting came in goaltending this week. No longer is Sergei Bobrovsky holding strong in second place. Instead, he has now been passed by Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury.

As it stands now, the six players going to the All-Star game are Crosby (PIT), Toews (CHI), Steven Stamkos (TBL), Kris Letang (PIT), Keith (CHI), Carey Price (MTL).

Pittsburgh fans have come out in droves during their team’s 12-game win streak, but now it’s time for the Flyers fans to get back on the ice and keeping shooting, err…I mean voting. So go! Vote! Don’t wait for your neighbor or friend to do it. You take the initiative and get it done. Then call your family and friends to do the same.

Please note that for forwards and defensemen, I have posted only the top 30. To see the entire rankings, visit the NHL’s site.
